Ingredients
- 1 Tbsp. self-rising flour
- 1/4 c. chopped onion
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 1 to 1 1/2 c. self-rising cornmeal
- 1 egg
Method
- Combine the flour and cornmeal; stir in the chopped onion. Beat together the egg and buttermilk; add to dry ingredients.
- Mix together and drop by rounded teaspoonfuls into hot oil.
- Fry 3 to 4 minutes or until brown.
- Makes about 2 dozen.
