Ingredients
- 3 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. water
- 1 c. syrup
- 3 c. nuts
- 1 Tbsp. butter
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 heaping tsp. baking soda
Method
- Combine first 3 ingredients and bring to a boil. Add nuts. When mixture darkens a bit, add butter.
- When mixture starts to boil and become brown, remove from heat.
- Add salt and baking soda, mixing well. Pour immediately into buttered pans and pound to get air bubbles out.
- When cool, remove from pans.
