Ingredients

  • 6 pork chops
  • salt and pepper
  • 3 c. sauerkraut
  • 4 Tbsp. paprika
  • 1 1/2 c. canned tomatoes
  • 3 large potatoes, sliced and parboiled
  • 1 Tbsp. brown sugar

Method

  • Sprinkle chops lightly with salt and pepper; flour on both sides.
  • Brown in a heavy skillet; then arrange a layer of kraut, then a layer of potatoes with a layer of kraut on top.
  • Sprinkle with paprika and brown sugar.
  • Pour tomatoes over top.
  • Cover and cook slowly on top of stove for 40 to 45 minutes or until chops are very tender.
