Ingredients

  • peppers
  • 2 gal. water
  • 3 c. salt
  • 1 c. vinegar
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 grape leaf
  • 1 bunch dill

Method

  • Thoroughly wash peppers.
  • Cut in small slices (circles).
  • Put peppers in a brine made of 1 gallon water to 2 cups of salt. Weight to hold peppers under brine.
  • Next day, drain well and pack peppers into sterilized jars.
  • Make a pickling solution of 1 gallon water, 1 cup salt, 1 cup vinegar, 1 clove garlic, 1 grape leaf and dill bunch.
  • Bring to boil.
  • Pour over peppers to within 1/2-inch of top.
  • Put on cap.
  • Screw band firmly tight.
  • Process in boiling water bath 5 minutes.
