Ingredients
- 2 whole chickens, cut up
- 1 1/2 qt. milk
- 1 large onion
- salt and pepper
- flour and paprika
- 2 Tbsp. Crisco
- 1 qt. light cream
- 1 Tbsp. flour
Method
- Melt Crisco in large frypan.
- Season chicken with salt, pepper, paprika and flour.
- Brown chicken.
- Transfer chicken to large pot.
- Saute onion.
- Put with chicken.
- Rinse frypan and put enough water in pot to cover chicken.
- Cook over medium heat for about 1 1/2 hours.
- Mix milk, light cream and flour thoroughly. Cook over medium heat until boils.
- Pour immediately over chicken. (If too thin, add more flour.)
- Salt to taste; sprinkle with paprika.
- Cook until sauce thickens.
- Serve over waffles.
