Ingredients
- 2 pkg. dry yeast
- 1/2 c. warm water
- 1/2 c. butter
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. hot scalded milk
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 eggs
- 5 to 5 1/2 c. flour
Method
- Soften yeast in water.
- Combine in bowl sugar, butter, milk and salt.
- Cool to lukewarm.
- Blend in eggs and yeast.
- Gradually blend in flour to make a stiff dough.
- Knead until smooth and satiny.
- Place in greased bowl.
- Let rise until light.
- Divide into 3 or 4 parts.
- Roll out, spread with Nut Filling (or poppy seed filling).
- Roll like jelly roll.
- Put on baking pans.
- Let rise again.
- Bake in 350° oven until done (about 35 minutes).
