Ingredients
- 1 c. butter flavor Crisco
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 2 c. scalded milk
- 2 pkg. dry yeast
- 4 Tbsp. warm water (110~ to 115~)
- 6 c. flour, divided
- 3 beaten eggs
- 2 tsp. salt
Method
- Mix Crisco, sugar and milk; let cool.
- Add warm water to yeast in small bowl and let set for 5 minutes.
- Add yeast to cool mixture and blend 3 cups of flour.
- Add eggs and salt.
- Mix in 3 more cups of flour and pour in greased bowl.
- Cover until doubled (about 2 hours).
- Punch down and make into rolls.
- Let rise until double again on greased pan.
- Bake at 350° for 15 minutes or until lightly brown.
- This recipe can also be used for cinnamon rolls.
