Ingredients

  • 1 c. butter flavor Crisco
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 c. scalded milk
  • 2 pkg. dry yeast
  • 4 Tbsp. warm water (110~ to 115~)
  • 6 c. flour, divided
  • 3 beaten eggs
  • 2 tsp. salt

Method

  • Mix Crisco, sugar and milk; let cool.
  • Add warm water to yeast in small bowl and let set for 5 minutes.
  • Add yeast to cool mixture and blend 3 cups of flour.
  • Add eggs and salt.
  • Mix in 3 more cups of flour and pour in greased bowl.
  • Cover until doubled (about 2 hours).
  • Punch down and make into rolls.
  • Let rise until double again on greased pan.
  • Bake at 350° for 15 minutes or until lightly brown.
  • This recipe can also be used for cinnamon rolls.
