Ingredients

  • 2 chicken breasts, roughly chopped
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 -2 teaspoon mustard powder
  • 2 scallions, roughly chopped
  • vegetable oil, for frying
  • 2 ounces sharp cheddar cheese
  • salt and black pepper

Method

  • Place the chicken, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, scallions and seasoning into a food processor and process to a paste.
  • Divide the mixture into 4 portions and roll each into a ball then flatten slightly to make quite thin patties.
  • Heat some oil in a frying pan and fry the burgers for 3-4 minutes on either side, turning with a fish slice, or until golden and cooked through.
  • Meanwhile heat the broiler and toast the burger buns, if using.
  • When the burgers are cooked place on the grill pan and cover each with thin slices of cheese and broil until golden and bubbling.
