Ingredients

  • 1 c. all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. cocoa
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 1/2 c. peanut butter
  • 2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 c. cocoa
  • 1 3/4 c. hot water

Method

  • Mix first 5 ingredients in large bowl.
  • Stir in milk, peanut butter, oil and vanilla until smooth.
  • Spread mixture into square 9 x 9 x 2-inch pan.
  • Stir together in small bowl brown sugar and 1/4 cup cocoa.
  • Sprinkle this mixture over batter in pan.
  • Pour hot water over the top of brown sugar, cocoa mixture but do not stir. Bake at 350° for 45 minutes.
  • To serve, spoon each serving upside down into dessert dishes.
  • Spoon sauce over top.
  • Best served warm.
