Ingredients
- 1 c. flour
- 1 c. water
- 1/2 c. salt
- 2 tsp. cream of tartar
- 1 Tbsp. cooking oil
- food coloring
Method
- Thoroughly mix together preceeding ingredients.
- Stir constantly over medium heat until mixture pulls away from sides of pan.
- Cool slightly and knead thoroughly.
- Store in an airtight container.
- It lasts a long time and has a better texture than commercial play dough.
- (You may add a few drops of oil of wintergreen or cinnamon to give a pleasant aroma, but only if the children understand it's not to eat!)
