Ingredients
- 2 (16 oz.) bags large dried limas
- 1 (32 oz.) bottle ketchup
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 tsp. dry mustard
- 1/2 c. Grandma's molasses
- 1/2 c. brown sugar
- 1 lb. bacon, cooked and crumbled (save about 1/4 c. bacon drippings)
Method
- Soak lima beans overnight and drain.
- Cook for one hour.
- Cool and refrigerate for one hour.
- Place chopped onion, dry mustard, bacon drippings, molasses and brown sugar mixture in saucepan and simmer about 5 minutes, stirring frequently.
- Place with cooked limas and crumbled bacon in crock-pot and cook on low heat for about 6 1/2 hours.
- Serves about 10 to 12.
