Ingredients
- 2 c. all-purpose flour
- 3 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
- 1/4 tsp. baking soda
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 3/4 c. buttermilk
- 1/2 c. shortening (I use Crisco butter flavored)
Method
- Sift dry ingredients together. Cut in shortening until mixture resembles
- coarse meal.
- Add milk all at once and stir just until mixture

- Knead gently.
- Roll to 1/2-inch thickness.
- Cut
- and place on ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 450°

- 10 to 12 minutes until golden brown.
- Makes 10 to 12 biscuits.
