Ingredients

  • 6 Tbsp. margarine
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 6 Tbsp. fine chopped onion
  • 1/4 tsp. basil leaves (dry)
  • 1/4 tsp. thyme leaves (dry)
  • 2 lb. potatoes, sliced thin
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper

Method

  • Combine seasonings in bowl.
  • Place 2 tablespoons melted margarine in 10-inch skillet.
  • Arrange 1/3 potatoes in circular pattern.
  • Sprinkle with 1/4 teaspoon seasoning, 4 tablespoons melted margarine and 2 tablespoons onion.
  • Repeat layers twice. Cover tightly with foil.
  • Press down.
  • Bake 20 minutes at 425°. Remove foil.
  • Cook 20 minutes more.
  • Let stand 10 minutes before putting in serving dish.
