Ingredients

  • pie dough for double crust
  • 6 medium green tomatoes, sliced paper thin
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. ground allspice
  • 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 c. cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp. flour

Method

  • Preheat oven to 425°.
  • Line a 9-inch pie pan with pie dough. Dot with butter.
  • Layer tomatoes and top with sugar, spices, vinegar, butter and a sprinkling of flour until all ingredients are used.
  • Vent crust in center of pie.
  • Bake 20 minutes at 425°. Reduce heat to 375° for 35 to 40 minutes.
  • Serve warm with a wedge of cheese.
