Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. green beans (1-inch pieces)
  • 2 medium carrots, cut in 1/4-inch slices
  • 1 medium onion, cut into 1/4-inch slices
  • 4 oz. mushrooms, cut into 1/4-inch slices
  • 1/4 c. margarine
  • 1 tsp. salt

Method

  • Heat 1-inch water to boiling in medium saucepan.
  • Add beans and carrots.
  • Return to boiling.
  • Reduce heat.
  • Simmer, covered, until almost tender, about 12 minutes.
  • Drain.
  • Cook and stir onion and mushrooms in margarine in 10-inch skillet over medium heat until almost tender, about 5 minutes.
  • Reduce heat.
  • Stir in beans, carrots and salt.
  • Cook, covered over medium heat until tender.
