- 4 large thinly sliced onions
- 1/4 c. butter
- 2 (10 oz.) can condensed beef broth
- 1 c. white wine or dry sherry
- 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 tsp. garlic salt
- 2 c. (8 oz.) shredded Swiss cheese
- 6 slices French bread, buttered and toasted
- 1/3 c. shredded Parmesan cheese
Method
- Saute onions in butter until limp.
- Mix in undiluted beef broth, wine, Worcestershire sauce and garlic salt.
- Heat thoroughly.
- Ladle in
- 4 to 6 ovenproof bowls
- Sprinkle 1/2 of shredded Swiss cheese over soup.
