Ingredients

  • 2 lb. ground beef
  • 2 large onions, chopped
  • 1 green pepper, chopped
  • 4 c. water
  • 16 oz. tomato sauce
  • 6 medium potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 Tbsp. parsley flakes
  • beef base: 1 c. broth or 3 bouillon cubes

Method

  • In a Dutch oven, cook the beef; drain off fat and remove.
  • Add the onions.
  • Cook until translucent and remove.
  • Add pepper. Cook until tender.
  • Return onions and ground beef to the pot.
  • Add all remaining ingredients.
  • Stir.
  • Bring to a boil and lower heat to a simmer; simmer for 20 minutes to cook potatoes.
  • Serve hot.
