Ingredients

  • 4 c. coarsely crumbled corn bread
  • 4 c. crumbled dry bread
  • 1 c. chopped onion
  • 1 c. chopped celery
  • 1 tsp. thyme
  • 1 tsp. marjoram
  • 1 tsp. sage
  • 1 c. broth (made from giblets)
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 1/2 sticks butter, melted
  • salt and pepper to taste

Method

  • Mix bread, onions, celery and seasonings in a large bowl.
  • Add eggs and butter and mix well.
  • If mixture seems too dry, add more broth to moisten but do not make pastry.
  • Put in a greased baking pan or muffin pans.
  • Bake at 350° until brown.
