Ingredients

  • 7 c. rolled oats
  • 5 c. wheat bran
  • 3 c. wheat germ
  • 2 1/2 c. unsalted roasted sunflower seeds
  • 2 c. sesame seed
  • 2 c. flaked coconut
  • 1 3/4 c. honey
  • 5/8 c. molasses
  • 1 3/4 c. canola oil

Method

  • Mix dry ingredients thoroughly, add oil and mix thoroughly again.
  • Heat honey until it flows freely and add with molasses to ingredients and mix thoroughly.
  • Bake at 275° in a large broiler or pans without cover for 1 1/2 hours, stirring every 15 to 20 minutes to toast evenly.
  • Color should be light brown.
  • Bake on shelf 3 inches above coils.
  • Yields 26 cups, or 7 1/2 pounds.
  • Can be used as breakfast cereal, on hot cereals and as a snack.
