Ingredients

  • 2 cups old fashioned oats
  • 1 cup shredded coconut
  • 1/2 cup wheat germ
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped walnuts or almonds
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 14 ounces sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 1 1/2 cups raisins

Method

  • Combine oats, coconut, wheat germ, nuts and salt in a large bowl.
  • Stir in condensed milk.
  • Add oil and mix thoroughly.
  • Spread mixture on a shallow baking pan lined with wax paper.
  • Bake at 300 degrees, stirring occasionally, for 1 hour or until golden.
  • Remove from oven and stir in raisins while still warm.
  • Cool and store in tightly covered container.
