Ingredients
- 3 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. light corn syrup
- 1/2 c. cold water
- 2 egg whites
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- nuts, chopped (any type, any amount)
Method
- Place sugar, corn syrup and water in pan over low heat.
- Stir until sugar is dissolved, then cook to soft ball.
- In a bowl, beat egg whites until stiff.
- Pour 1/2 of cooked syrup mixture over egg whites and continue to beat.
- Cook the other half of syrup mixture until hard ball and then add gradually to the syrup and egg white mixture.
- Add vanilla.
- Beat until thick enough to drop from spoon.
- Add nuts and drop on wax paper.
