Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 heaping Tbsp. flour
  • 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • pinch of salt
  • 2 eggs, separated
  • 1 c. evaporated milk
  • 1 1/4 c. water
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 Tbsp. butter or oleo, melted
  • graham cracker crust
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar

Method

  • Mix 1/2 cup sugar, flour, starch and salt.
  • Add beaten egg yolks, milk, water, vanilla and oleo in large pan.
  • Cook, stirring until thickened; cool.
  • Pour in graham cracker crust.
  • Beat egg whites until stiff; beat in 1 tablespoon sugar.
  • Spread on top of pie and bake at 350° until meringue is slightly brown.
