Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef sirloin steak, cut into strips
  • 1 None onion, cut into thin wedges
  • 5 oz button mushrooms, quartered
  • 1 None red pepper, seeded and cut into strips
  • 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 14 oz gnocchi
  • None None Crusty bread, to serve

Method

  • Heat a large skillet on high heat. Spray with no stick cooking spray. Saute beef in batches for 2 mins, until browned. Remove from pan and cover to keep warm. Reduce heat to medium.
  • Add onion to pan. Cook, stirring, for 5 mins, until softened and golden. Add mushrooms and pepper. Cook for 5 mins, until just tender.
  • Stir in tomatoes and paprika. When bubbling, reduce heat to low. Simmer for 5 mins, until sauce thickens. Stir in beef. Season.
  • Meanwhile, cook gnocchi in a large saucepan of boiling salted water according to package directions. Drain. Toss gnocchi with beef mixture and serve with crusty bread.
