Ingredients

  • 3 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1 1/2 c. light Karo syrup
  • 1 c. water
  • 1 tsp. flavoring or coloring

Method

  • Combine sugar, water and Karo syrup over medium heat, stirring until sugar dissolves.
  • Turn on high and put in candy thermometer. Let boil until 310° is reached.
  • Do not stir.
  • Watch closely, as it may boil over.
  • When temperature is reached, take off heat. Add flavoring and coloring.
  • Pour into shallow flat pan.
  • Let cool completely (overnight is best).
  • Break into bite size pieces. Toss with powdered sugar.
