Ingredients
- 1 bar German sweet chocolate
- 2 3/4 c. Swans Down cake flour
- 1 3/4 c. sugar
- 3/4 tsp. cream of tartar
- 1/2 tsp. soda
- 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 c. softened butter or margarine
- 3/4 c. milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 3 whole eggs and 1 egg yolk
Method
- Melt chocolate and cool (microwave or double boiler). Sift together dry ingredients. Stir softened butter. Add dry ingredients, milk and vanilla. Mix to dampen flour. Beat 2 minutes at medium speed by mixer or 300 vigorous strokes by hand. Add eggs, yolk and chocolate. Beat 1 minute. Pour into greased and floured pan. Bake at 350° about 65 minutes. Cool and glaze.
