Ingredients

  • 1 lb. dry pinto beans
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 can chopped green chiles
  • 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 4 heaping Tbsp. chili powder
  • 1 heaping Tbsp. ground cumin
  • 1 heaping tsp. chili pepper
  • salt to taste
  • 4 heaping Tbsp. cornstarch or maza flour
  • 3 cans beef broth
  • 2 lb. ground beef

Method

  • Cook beans per package.
  • When half done, pour off the water and cook the rest of the way with beef broth, covered about 1-inch with (topped off) water (large pot).
