Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 c. candied mixed fruit
  • 1 c. white raisins
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 c. brandy
  • 1/2 c. packed brown sugar
  • 1/3 c. margarine, melted
  • 1/2 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. cloves
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 c. plain flour, sifted
  • 1 c. pecans

Method

  • Soak candied fruit and raisins in brandy for 48 hours.
  • With a fork, beat eggs and sugar.
  • Blend in butter, soda, spices and vanilla.
  • Gently stir in flour, nuts and brandied fruit with remaining liquid.
  • Drop by rounded teaspoons onto ungreased cookie sheet.
  • Bake at 375° for about 10 minutes or until lightly brown. Makes about 4 1/2 dozen.
