Ingredients

  • 6 medium, firm tomatoes, sliced thin
  • 1 (13 to 16-inch) baked pizza crust
  • 2 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 1 tsp. pepper
  • 1 (2 1/4 oz.) sliced, ripe olives, drained (optional)
  • 1/2 c. diced green pepper
  • 1/2 c. diced onion
  • 1 Tbsp. chopped, fresh basil or 1 tsp. dried basil
  • 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. dried oregano
  • 1 c. (4 oz.) shredded Mozzarella cheese
  • 1 c. (4 oz.) shredded Cheddar cheese

Method

  • Place tomato slices in a circle on crust, overlapping slightly, until crust is completely covered.
  • Drizzle with olive oil.
  • Cover with olives, if desired, green pepper and onion. Sprinkle seasonings over all.
  • Cover with cheese.
  • Bake at 400° for 15 minutes or until cheese is melted.
  • Serve immediately. Yields 8 servings.
