Ingredients

  • 2 lb. haddock, cod or perch fillets
  • 1 medium onion, cut in small pieces
  • 2 or more potatoes, cut in small pieces
  • 1/4 lb. butter or margarine
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 can evaporated milk
  • 1 pt. or more regular milk
  • salt and pepper to taste

Method

  • Cover
  • fish
  • with water and cook slowly for 20 minutes. Remove fish.
  • In the same water, cook onion and potatoes until onion
  • is very soft.
  • Return fish to mixture and add remaining ingredients. Mixture should not boil after addition of milk.
