Ingredients
- 2 c. scalded milk
- 1/2 c. shortening (not oil)
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 c. lukewarm water
- 2 1/4 oz. pkg. RapidRise yeast
- 6 c. flour
Method
- Heat milk, be sure not to burn it.
- Add shortening, salt and sugar to milk; cool to lukewarm.
- Add beaten eggs to mixture when mix is cool.
- Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water; add to milk mixture.
- Stir in 4 cups flour; knead until smooth (about 5 minutes).
- Add remaining flour.
- Grease topp of dough and rise 2 hours.
- Punch down dough and work out rolls, let rise 1 1/2 hours. Bake at
- 375° for 10 to 15 minutes.
