Ingredients

  • 2 c. scalded milk
  • 1/2 c. shortening (not oil)
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 c. lukewarm water
  • 2 1/4 oz. pkg. RapidRise yeast
  • 6 c. flour

Method

  • Heat milk, be sure not to burn it.
  • Add shortening, salt and sugar to milk; cool to lukewarm.
  • Add beaten eggs to mixture when mix is cool.
  • Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water; add to milk mixture.
  • Stir in 4 cups flour; knead until smooth (about 5 minutes).
  • Add remaining flour.
  • Grease topp of dough and rise 2 hours.
  • Punch down dough and work out rolls, let rise 1 1/2 hours. Bake at
