Ingredients

  • 1 (16 oz.) can Campbell's pork and beans
  • 1 (28 oz.) can Bush's beans with bacon and brown sugar
  • 1 (15 oz.) can cooked butter beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 (16 oz.) can kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 4 slices lean bacon
  • 1/2 lb. hamburg
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1/2 c. brown sugar
  • 3/4 tsp. dry mustard
  • 1 Tbsp. red wine vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp. molasses
  • 1/2 c. ketchup

Method

  • Fry bacon until crisp; drain on paper towel.
  • Remove fat from pan and fry hamburger and onion until lightly browned.
  • Mix beans, spices and meats together in a large bowl, then pour in a casserole and bake at 350° for 1 hour or 325° for a little longer. This can be made the day before, refrigerated and baked the next day.
  • Takes a little longer to bake when cold.
