Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. butter or margarine
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 3 c. sugar
  • 5 eggs
  • 2 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp. lemon extract

Method

  • Cream the butter and shortening.
  • Gradually add sugar, beating well at medium speed.
  • Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition.
  • Combine dry ingredients.
  • Add to creamed mixture alternately with milk, beginning and ending with flour.
  • Mix just until blended.
  • Stir in flavorings.
  • Pour batter into greased and floured 12-cup Bundt pan.
  • Bake at 325° for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until done.
  • Cool 10 to 15 minutes before removing from pan.
