Ingredients

  • 1/4 c. butter
  • 1 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 1/2 lb. ground chuck
  • 1/2 lb. ground pork
  • 1/2 lb. ground veal or turkey
  • 1 bell pepper
  • 4 cloves fresh garlic
  • 1 onion
  • 1 tsp. oregano
  • dash of Tabasco
  • 1/2 lb. mushrooms
  • 2 small cans tomato paste
  • 2 c. canned tomatoes
  • 1/2 tsp. Worchestershire sauce
  • 1 level Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. black pepper
  • 1 tsp. marjoram
  • 1 tsp. rosemary
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 2 c. dry red wine

Method

  • Chop all ingredients as fine as possible.
  • Cook meat in olive oil and butter until done, not browned.
  • Add all other ingredients and simmer 3 to 4 hours.
