Ingredients
- 6 c. sliced cukes
- 1 c. sliced onions
- 2 c. white vinegar
- 1 c. water
- 2 c. sugar
- 2 tsp. pickling salt
- 2 tsp. celery seed
- 1 tsp. mustard seed
- 2 cloves garlic (optional)
Method
- In large saucepan, combine vinegar, water, sugar and seasoning. Bring to a boil, stirring to dissolve sugar.
- Meanwhile, place one clove of garlic in each jar (1 quart); pack cukes and onions into jars.
- Fill jars with hot vinegar mixture.
- Helps to use a funnel and soup ladle.
- Replace lid, then cool in refrigerator for at least 24 hours to blend flavors.
- Stores in refrigerator up to 3 months.
- Give them to your friends.
