Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef (ground turkey works just as well)
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 1 small green bell pepper, finely chopped
  • 1 (28 ounce) can pork and beans (sometimes I use a bit more depending on can size)
  • 1 1/2 cups ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons prepared mustard
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground pepper

Method

  • Brown ground beef and drain.
  • Add onion and bell pepper and saute until tender.
  • Add beef/onion/pepper and all other ingredients to a slow cooker.
  • Mix well.
  • Cook on low for 1 - 2 hours.
