Ingredients
- 2 medium potatoes (enough for 1 c. mashed potatoes; reserve potato water)
- 2/3 c. shortening
- 2/3 c. sugar
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1 pkg. yeast
- 2 eggs
- 6 to 7 c. flour
Method
- Pour 1 1/3 cups hot potato water over shortening, sugar and salt.
- Allow to stand until lukewarm.
- Dissolve yeast in 1/4 cup lukewarm water.
- Add to first mixture.
- Then add eggs, mashed potatoes and flour.
