- 6 c. apples, pared and sliced
- 1/2 c. light corn syrup
- 1 tsp. lemon juice
- 1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon, divided
- 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
- 1/2 c. sugar
- dash of salt
- 1/2 c. corn oil margarine, softened
- 3/4 c. flour
- 1/4 c. Quaker oats
- 1 qt. vanilla ice cream
Method
- Preheat oven to 375°.
- Spray an 8-inch baking dish.
- Place half of the apples in dish; top with corn syrup.
- Add remaining apples, lemon juice, 1 teaspoon cinnamon and nutmeg.
- Combine 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, sugar, salt, margarine, flour and oatmeal.
- Mix and press firmly over apples.
- Bake 50 minutes.
- To serve, top with ice cream or frozen yogurt.
- Serves 10.
- Can be refrigerated and baked later.
