Ingredients
- 1 1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 c. butter or margarine
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 c. plain flour
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
- 1 c. chopped dates
- 1/2 c. chopped pecans
Method
- Preheat oven to 350°.
- Grease and flour a 13 x 9-inch pan. Beat brown sugar and butter or margarine until light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla; mix well.
- Add flour, baking powder, salt and nutmeg; mix well.
- Add dates and stir well.
- Spread into greased pan.
- Sprinkle chopped pecans on top.
- Bake for approximately 20 minutes or until light golden brown.
