Ingredients
- 1 1/2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 3/4 c. quick cooking rolled oats
- 1/2 c. chopped walnuts
- 1/2 c. snipped dates
- 1 slightly beaten egg
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 c. dairy sour cream
- 1/4 c. light molasses
Method
- Sift together flour, soda, baking powder and salt into mixing bowl. Stir in rolled oats, walnuts and dates.
- Combine the beaten egg, sugar, sour cream and molasses.
- Beat well. Add to dry ingredients, stirring just until moistened.
- Place in 8 1/2 x 4 1/2 x 2 1/2-inch loaf dish.
- Bake in moderate oven at 350° for 40 to 45 minutes. Remove from dish and cool on rack. Cut in thin slices to serve.
- Makes 1 loaf.
