Ingredients

  • 3 cucumbers
  • 1/2 c. white wine vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp. dill weed
  • 1/2 tsp. white pepper
  • fresh tomato wedges (for garnish)
  • 1 bunch green onions
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. salt
  • butter or leaf lettuce

Method

  • Slice cucumbers thin in bowl.
  • Slice onions diagonally as thin as possible and add to cucumbers.
  • Combine vinegar, sugar, dill weed, salt and pepper.
  • Whisk with fork until well blended.
  • Pour over onions and cucumbers.
  • Turn with spatula to cover all pieces. Marinate 1 hour or more.
  • Lift cucumbers from marinade.
  • Serve on lettuce leaves.
  • Garnish with tomato wedges.
