Ingredients

  • 3 1/2 qt. popped corn (14 c.)
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1 c. light brown sugar
  • 1/4 c. light corn syrup
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp. soda

Method

  • Place popped corn in a large, well-greased pan.
  • In a large heavy saucepan, melt butter; stir in next 3 ingredients and boil for 5 minutes over medium heat.
  • Remove from heat and stir in vanilla and soda.
  • Pour syrup over popcorn, mixing well.
  • Place popcorn on well-greased 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1-inch jelly roll pan. Bake at 250° for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes.
  • When cool enough to handle, separate kernels.
  • Store tightly covered.
