Ingredients
- 1 cup butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 14 teaspoon salt
- 1 egg, well beaten
- 2 cups flour
- 12 teaspoon baking soda
Method
- Sift salt, flour and baking soda together; set aside.
- Cream butter and sugar until fluffy; add egg and beat.
- Fold in flour mixture.
- Knead well, adding more flour if necessary to make a stiff dough.
- Shape into rolls and place in refrigerator to chill thoroughly.
- Slice thin and bake in a preheated 400F oven for about 8 minutes or until golden.
- Place cookies on a wire rack until cool.
