Ingredients

  • 2 pkg. yeast
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 6 to 7 c. flour
  • 3 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 1 c. melted butter

Method

  • Dissolve yeast in 1 cup water (105° to 115°).
  • Add sugar, salt and 1 1/2 cups flour, stirring well.
  • Add eggs, butter and remaining flour.
  • Knead until smooth and elastic, approximately 10 minutes.
  • Place dough in greased bowl, turning to coat.
  • Cover and let rise in warm place about 1 hour until double in size.
  • Punch down; divide into 4 equal parts.
  • Roll each part into 1/4-inch thick circle; cut into 8 wedges.
  • Roll up for crescent, starting at wide end.
  • Place on baking sheet; cover and let rise 45 minutes, until double in size.
  • Bake at 400° for 12 to 15 minutes or until golden.
  • Makes 32 rolls.
