Ingredients
- 2 pkg. yeast
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 6 to 7 c. flour
- 3 eggs, slightly beaten
- 1 c. melted butter
Method
- Dissolve yeast in 1 cup water (105° to 115°).
- Add sugar, salt and 1 1/2 cups flour, stirring well.
- Add eggs, butter and remaining flour.
- Knead until smooth and elastic, approximately 10 minutes.
- Place dough in greased bowl, turning to coat.
- Cover and let rise in warm place about 1 hour until double in size.
- Punch down; divide into 4 equal parts.
- Roll each part into 1/4-inch thick circle; cut into 8 wedges.
- Roll up for crescent, starting at wide end.
- Place on baking sheet; cover and let rise 45 minutes, until double in size.
- Bake at 400° for 12 to 15 minutes or until golden.
- Makes 32 rolls.
