Ingredients
- 1 1/2 c. meal
- 1/4 tsp. soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- lard (about the size of a hen egg)
- buttermilk
Method
- Grease baking dish. Work it up with buttermilk so you can handle it. Make the dodgers. I make it with my hands and it will cream fluffy if you work it long enough. That makes it light and fluffy and I have a pan of warm water to wet my hands, which makes them smooth. I have the oven at 500°.
