Ingredients
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/3 c. margarine
- 1/2 c. milk
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 3/4 c. flour
- 1 to 1 1/2 c. cherries, drained
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 c. boiling water
Method
- Mix sugar, butter, milk, baking powder, salt and flour.
- Put in greased 8-inch casserole.
- Put cherries on top of batter; dot with margarine and add 1 cup sugar.
- Pour boiling water over all.
- Bake at 350° for about 35 minutes.
- Cherries will to to bottom and form a sauce.
- (I usually double this and put in 9 x 13 pan.)
- Serve with ice cream.
