- 1 cup margarine softened
- 1 cup brown sugar firmly packed
- 3/4 cup sugar granulated
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 3/4 cups flour, all-purpose
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt optional
- 2 cups rolled oats quick, uncooked
- 2 cups flavoring any flavour
- 1 x almonds whole, blanched
Method
- Heat oven to 375F (190C)F.
- Beat margarine and sugars in large bowl until fluffy.
- Blend in eggs and vanilla.
- Combine flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt; add to margarine mixture and mix well.
- Stir in oats and cereal.
- Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls, 2 inches apart, onto ungreased cookie sheet.
- Press 1 almond onto each cookie.
- Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until golden brown.
- Cool 2 minutes on cookie sheet; remove to wire rack.
- Cool completely.
- Store tightly covered.
