Ingredients

  • 1 cup margarine softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar firmly packed
  • 3/4 cup sugar granulated
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 3/4 cups flour, all-purpose
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt optional
  • 2 cups rolled oats quick, uncooked
  • 2 cups flavoring any flavour
  • 1 x almonds whole, blanched

Method

  • Heat oven to 375F (190C)F.
  • Beat margarine and sugars in large bowl until fluffy.
  • Blend in eggs and vanilla.
  • Combine flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt; add to margarine mixture and mix well.
  • Stir in oats and cereal.
  • Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls, 2 inches apart, onto ungreased cookie sheet.
  • Press 1 almond onto each cookie.
  • Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Cool 2 minutes on cookie sheet; remove to wire rack.
  • Cool completely.
  • Store tightly covered.
