Ingredients
- 3 c. sugar
- 3/4 c. evaporated milk
- 3 sq. baking chocolate
- 3 Tbsp. light corn syrup
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- chopped nuts (optional)
Method
- Boil sugar, milk, chocolate, syrup and salt in covered pan on low heat until soft ball stage (cook slowly).
- Cool until lukewarm, covered and without stirring.
- Add butter and vanilla. Beat with electric beater at high speed until thick.
- Add nuts. Pour into buttered 8 x 8-inch or bread pan.
- Cool and cut.
