Ingredients
- 2 sticks margarine, softened
- 1/2 c. Crisco shortening (not oil)
- 3 c. sugar
- 6 eggs
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 c. cocoa
- 3 c. plain flour
- 1 1/4 c. sweet milk
Method
- Cream margarine, shortening and sugar.
- Add salt, baking powder and cocoa; mix until well blended.
- Add flour and milk alternately.
- Batter will be stiff.
- Break eggs in separate bowl and whip good, then add to cake batter and mix good.
- Add vanilla and beat again.
- Bake at 325° for 1 1/2 hours.
- Bake in tube pan that has been greased and floured.
