Ingredients

  • 1 c. butter or margarine
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 3/4 c. cocoa
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. chopped nuts
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 3 c. quick oats

Method

  • In large bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Blend in eggs and vanilla.
  • Combine flour, cocoa, salt and baking soda.
  • Add to mixture, mixing well with spoon.
  • Stir in oats and nuts.
  • Batter will be stiff.
  • Drop by round tablespoon or 3/4 inch balls onto ungreased cookie sheet.
  • Bake at 350° for 11 to 12 minutes or until set.
  • Cookies will be slightly moist in center. Cool 1 minute before removing from cookie sheet to wire rack.
