Ingredients
- 1 c. sugar
- 2 1/2 Tbsp. plain flour
- 2 Tbsp. cocoa
- pinch of salt
- 3 eggs, separated
- 1 1/2 c. cold milk
- 1/2 stick margarine
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 baked pastry shell
- 1/3 c. sugar
Method
- Mix together sugar, flour, cocoa and salt.
- Stir together egg yolks, milk and butter.
- Add to dry ingredients.
- Cook over medium heat until thick.
- Stir in vanilla.
- Pour into pie shell. Beat the egg whites until thick, add 1/3 cup sugar and continue to beat until smooth.
- Place on top of pie filling and brown in 325° oven until golden brown.
